I had four days to learn surfing with wavesensations as a total beginner. When I came to the group, it was professionaly divided in different lernlevals, therefore i learned the basics fastly and could start to practice in the white water soon. safety roles were always professionally added and repeated in the right moment. Exept a safety instruction, important to me was the very professional technical instruction. Beyond my instructor had a high sensibility finding and correcting mistakes, which allowed a quick progress for me.More then professional to me is that the instructor were very passionated helping, supporting and motivating the surfers allalong the lessons by creating a family atmosphere.My plan was to surf only one day, in the end it became 4 days and now i will come back and surf again 😄. Of course with wavesensations 😎🤙.Thank you Bernado 😉.

we did a yoga surf retreat, yoga is perfect in the morning and the evening. loved the surf lessons teachers( Sabine) were brilliant really feeling the improvment already planning our trip back. thanks guys xxx

The beaches around Sagres, in the Algarve region, are amongst the best surfing spots in Portugal: Praia do Beliche, Tonel, Telheiro, Zavial, Praia da Mareta… every beach has different wave characteristics and is suited for different surf levels.
WHEN TO COME
BEST MONTHS FOR SURFING
If you combine surfing and pleasure, then anytime between May and October is best. If you attend a course for several days, then any month will do (please note that we are closed in January). If you are an experienced surfer and looking for the biggest waves, then try to avoid the summer months.

ALL YEAR LONG
The west of the Algarve creates good waves 365 days a year. It is possible to practice surf every day. This is quite unique, as other surf destinations in Portugal cannot guarantee the same. Algarve has the best waves in Europe according to the Portuguese tourist authorities.
